Voice builds Vision.
Having spent years capturing cultural stories through interviews in China, bringing this passion to the streets of London felt like a natural next step for me.
Thus K&C Mic-Up ensues.
Thus K&C Mic-Up ensues.
Driven by a desire to amplify the multi-faceted voices of London, I founded K&C Mic-Up—a media channel built on authentic street interviews in London. We took to Brick Lane, the beating heart of East London’s youth subculture, to capture real conversations with a diverse mix of locals and travelers. Their voices deserve to be heard.
Running a two-person team meant we had to do it all OMG!!! Our process always starts in a cute & tiny coffee shop near our home, debating topics that would actually make people stop in their tracks: global dating culture, cross-cultural sparkles, and the overlapping parts between Eastern and Western identities. We crafted questions designed to spark real reactions—asking things like, “What actually makes you want to pay for the first date?” Then came the brutal test: stepping out onto the busy streets, approaching total strangers, and convincing them to open up to a camera with consent. Once the sun went down, our focus turned to post-production—hours spent editing raw footage, cutting out the noise, and turning hours of street conversations into snappy, relatable stories for social media. It was SO intense and exhausting. In the end, yet, seeing the final product was so rewarding because we knew our voice truly reached the audience.
Ultimately, this project proved that authentic stories can go beyond cross-cultural boundaries and create real commercial value. Earning a collaboration offer from an international cosmetics brand showed us the power of our work: when you listen to local voices with empathy & authenticity, you uncover universal human truths that resonate with audiences everywhere.
