In May 2026, I had the incredible opportunity to join a senior PR team at the 79th Cannes Film Festival. Surrounded by iconic landmarks like Hôtel Martinez, Le Majestic, and the Carlton, I felt more inspired than ever to excel in this role. PR from a global perspective at Cannes is no joke! It was fast-paced and classic “Fashion Mess”, but I loved every second of it. I was working behind the scenes with Chinese and global artists—doing everything from red-carpet timing and styling support to media scheduling. My main goal? Keeping all the crazy details under control so they could bring their absolute best to the world stage.
Away from the hectic schedules, Cannes was really about the people and energy. One lovely afternoon, at a yacht party drifting along the Riviera, I was chatting with amazing floral artists from Paris, London, and Seoul. Over several glasses of champagne under the sunshine, we lost track of time talking about fashion & style, and how our diversified and dynamic cultures shape the way we see beauty & aesthetics. It suddenly dawned to me, at that moment, that PR isn't just about press releases or red carpets. It’s more about creating these magic moments where different worlds meet and helping Asian stories truly connect with the rest of the world.
